Tentative topic: Remi and Andrew will explain how they replaced Windows Server with an Ubuntu server at United Way.

There will be some hardware giveaways. And the most important part of all these meetings is the unscripted tech talks that always arise.

Topic: online services. Is the online economy unsustainable due to its high power usage and the resulting environmental effects? What online services do you use? Let's discuss how many streaming services people use, their support for Linux and other OS, and how much we pay directly and/or indirectly. Of course, everyone can and will talk about whatever they want ... some of the best topics are unplanned. And please bring any projects or problems that you have been working on recently.

Suggested topic: all things wifi ... devicies, testing, linux compatibility, etc. Bring a wifi device. Bring something you want to wifi enable. You get the idea. Of course, any topic is welcome at any meeting ... unexpected discussions are the best part of our meetings. Also tech talk, free hardware, software and idea exchange. See you on Tuesday.

Our July meeting is Tuesday July 2nd at United Way. Click for Google map. You bring your favourite non-alcoholic beverage; Andrew will bring pizza and veggies.

The topic for this meeting will be "build your own multimedia server.” Bring your own hardware. You can choose plex, kodi, whatever you want to install. Andrew will bring network hub and switch, and a stack of old hard drives to install on.

Logan will explain 360 video conversion on Linux and demo its application via Google cardboard. Which is a great segue into the Google Chrome announcement regarding ad blockers ... perhaps we should have a round table discussion about this announcement,  chrome alternatives and migration strategies.

As usual the best parts of our meetings are the wide ranging tech talks and idea exchange.
