The topic for this meeting will be "build your own multimedia server.” Bring your own hardware. You can choose plex, kodi, whatever you want to install. Andrew will bring network hub and switch, and a stack of old hard drives to install on.
We always have technical talk, some questions answered, more asked; hardware giveaways and documents traded.

Logan will explain 360 video conversion on Linux and demo its application via Google cardboard. Which is a great segue into the Google Chrome announcement regarding ad blockers ... perhaps we should have a round table discussion about this announcement, chrome alternatives and migration strategies.
As usual the best parts of our meetings are the wide ranging tech talks and idea exchange.

Jeff's 3d printing demo was postponed last month due to inclement weather, so that's on the agenda for this meeting. Also, Andrew has an update on his race timer project. Do you have a project that might be improved by 3d printing? Bring it on Tuesday ... let's all ruthlessly exploit Jeff! Of course, the highlight of every meeting is tech talk on a wide variety of subjects, exchange of free ideas, parts, software and information.

Topic for the meeting is 3d printing. Jeff will demo his printer and maybe a printing project. Do you have something you have wanted to print? This would be a good time to talk to Jeff about it. Of course the floor is open to anyone who wants to show off hardware or software, or talk about a recent project. And there will be the usual tech talk, hardware and software giveaways, etc.

Our topic will be shutting down the STARS program. After many years and hundreds of refurbished PCs it is time to close down and clean up. Ideally when we finish our meeting the table should be empty and the shelves bare.
Of course we welcome every project, gadget and idea. If you got something cool for Christmas bring it tomorrow. If you had a great idea while sipping eggnog tell everyone about it. And we always have software, hardware, and tech talk.

Logan offered to do a presentation on IPv6. We should also do a demo flashing openwrt onto the United Way router and configuring it for IPV6. If anyone is interested Andrew can do a presentation regarding how to convert an Internet radio stream to a podcast. And the floor is open to everyone to show off their latest project, present interesting problems, or just talk tech with friends.

"Gaming on Linux" is the suggested theme for this meeting. Andrew will bring his linux steam setup. And maybe install GOG on it too. Anyone else who is interested in Linux games, bring your stuff. We can have a LAN party. Of course, anyone is welcome to bring any project they are working on. And there will be tech talk, free hardware and software, and magazines and books to trade.
